Doctor

  • Dr. Melanie A Marsden


    Dr. Melanie Marsden is originally from Western South Dakota, and has lived in Colorado Springs for the last 12 years, with her husband and 2 children. She attended the University of California Davis where she received a BS in Zoology and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.
    She has been the veterinarian working with big cats at Serenity Springs Wildlife Sanctuary for the last twelve years. She shares her home with a dog, 4 cats, chickens, duck, duck, goose, an iguana, a frog, and various strays and orphans (animals that is!)
    She has served on committees an expert veterinarian for The Colorado Division of Wildlife and The Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies Board of Pharmacy.   Dr. Marsden works with Colorado State University Scool of Veterinary Medicine helping to orient 1st year vet students to the profession and sharing stories from the trenches as well as advise on how to find "balance" between personal and professional responsibilities.
    Dr. Marsden has been a Veterinary News Network Reporter for several years.  She is currently on the Board of Directors for the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region, and the Colorado Veterinary Medical Foundation. She is the immediate Past- President of the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association.

  • Dr. Debra L Stirling , DVM


    Dr. Stirling is originally from Arizona and has lived in Colorado since 1991. She is married and has a variety of fuzzy children.  She and her husband enjoy traveling and like to scuba dive.

    She received an accounting degree from Northern Arizona University, then obtained her Certified Public Accounting license and practiced accounting for 12 years.  She then changed her career and went back to school at Colorado State University for her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. 

    Dr. Stirling is involved with the local veterinary chapter and this year is President of the Colorado Springs Area Veterinary Society.
