Our Services

All Services

  • BATHING

Our bathing is limited to medical and theraputic baths. Typically these are for mange, seborrhea or chronic skin infections. We recommend you do general bathing yourself or at the groomer of your choice. We can recommend general care products.

We do stock regular shampoos as well as a wide range of therapuetic shampoos for home care or skin diseases.

  • BEHAVIORAL MEDICINE

Illness doesn't always have a physical cause. However all behavior problems require that we look for a physical cause. We start with a complete physical exam and often run a variety of blood tests to see if your pet has a "real" disease that may have a behavioral aspect. We work with and refer to animal behaviorists. Together we the clinicians, you the owner and the behaviorist collaboratively develop a treatment plan. Often this includes behavior modification as well as medication.

  • REPTILES, RABBITS AND SMALL MAMMALS

Veterinary medicine for exotic pets is growing as the popularity of these animals increase. With better public education in health, nutritional and environmental management, all species have a greater chance for living longer and healthier lives. Our veterinarians  possess extensive experience in the management, care and treatments of exotics. We treat reptiles, small mamals, rabbits and ferrets. We also enjoy having many of these critters at our homes as well.

We care for reptiles, ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs and small rodents.

Sorry we don't do birds, amphibians or arachnids.

    Our doctors are members of:

    • Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians
    • American Association of Small Exotic mammal Veterinarians

        • DENTAL CARE

A large number of pets, including exotics suffer from dental disease. Our doctors have had additional training from board certified dental specialists for dogs and cats as well as the world leaders in exotic pet dentistry.

Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet's teeth. We use modern and safe ultrasound to clean each tooth thoroughly - above and below the gum line. Dental technicians polish the teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface which is more resistant to plaque buildup. Fluoride treatments help strengthen enamel and reduce tooth sensitivity.

We preform  acrylic sealing of damaged teeth, surgical extractions with gingival flaps, local anesthesia as well as post operative pain management. We frequently have to deal with overgrown teeth in rabbits, guinea pigs and chinchilas. We have the proper training and equipment to deal with these complex oral problems. We may refer your pet to a board certified dental specialist for more advanced care such as root canals, restorations and orthodontics.
